The North Carolina State Fair is an annual event that showcases the best of the Tar Heel State. Held each fall, this event is filled with family-friendly activities and attractions, as well as tasty treats and exciting rides. Guests can enjoy the latest in agricultural technology and products, as well as live entertainment and educational exhibits. With so much to do, the North Carolina State Fair is the perfect place to spend a day with family and friends. From delicious food to thrilling rides, the North Carolina State Fair has something for everyone.

1) Plan ahead

The fair lasts several days long – it sounds obvious, but it gives you plenty of time to organize ahead of time the day/s which suit you and your family the most to visit. The fact that it lasts so long builds up the excitement around the fair and gives it the spectacular reputation it has year after year.

2) Look at the program ahead of time

There are things like free music – every year, bands from North Carolina come to the State Fair to liven up the ambiance, and the best part is that you don’t have to pay an extra ticket to see them. All concerts are included in your passes.

3) There are gorgeous fireworks every night.

You can enjoy the fantastic fireworks display the NC State Fair offers. The vibrant colors and creative designs of their fireworks create a captivating show for all to enjoy. Weekdays are said to be less busy if you can get there.

4) Save money on tickets

You can still enjoy the North Carolina State Fair if you’re on a budget. Some popular ways to save are pre-ordering tickets online, where you can save up to 50%, and getting a lunch pass – basically, you pay $10 at 11:30 am, and if you leave before 1.30 pm, you will get your money back. Perfect for a little lunchtime treat without busting the bank.

5) Go and taste all the food

Speaking of treats, the NC State Fair is known for its cuisine – think yummy, naughty goodness such as fried Chicken and waffle kebab, Jamaican pork wrap, Shrimp bites, and not including sweets such as Deep-fried strawberry cream puffs and Fudge nut brownie apple. Mouth watering, anyone? Go to the fair, and try a bit of everything. You won’t be disappointed!

6) Explore more than the rides

It’s not just about the sugar high and fast rides. This fair offers games and prizes, art, exhibitions and of course, music. Choose the area that attracts your family most – sometimes, that might not include the big rides, and that’s ok. You can see how best to enjoy the North Carolina State Fair on their website, where you can check out last year’s edition.
