Education With A Fun Twist

The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences is where children can learn about dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals with lots of exhibits of wildlife, endangered and common, that live today.

The North Carolina Museum of Art has a collection of permanent exhibits and visiting ones that are fascinating to see. An outdoor museum park includes sculptures and artwork that is interesting and offers great photo opportunities.

It might be the most hands-on and colorful museum you’ve ever seen! You can spend your whole day there and your kids will absolutely have a  blast and will love you for it!

Connecting With Nature

William B. Umstead State Park is over 5,000 acres of beautiful scenic land where you can hike, run, cycle, and ride horses as you get back to nature.

There are three gorgeous lakes where you can go canoeing or rent a rowboat. You can go fishing, have a picnic or even pitch a tent in the summer months if you like camping.

WRAL Azalea Garden is a blooming lovely place to spend a few hours in the fresh air with the prettiest views. Manicured lawns, pristine flower gardens, including seats to rest awhile, are all part of the gardens in Raleigh, NC.

Shop Till You Drop

The Raleigh Market has something for every shopper with indoor and outdoor stalls, shops, and food stores to indulge in. You can find everything from comic books to fashion to toys to homeware at the flea market that is open every Saturday and Sunday.

North Carolina State Farmers Public Market is a fun place to pick up fresh fruit, vegetables and produce, fresh flowers, and locally made food products like cheese and jam.

There are also many specialty shops to explore and if you need to find gifts, this is the place for unique finds. It is open every day.
